Many inner-city HIV patients not on anti-HIV drugs Yahoo! News The majority of patients with HIV who were admitted to a Chicago hospital in recent years were not receiving potent anti-HIV drugs, and many had drug abuse and other problems, according to a new study. "Despite the availability of effective HIV therapy, many HIV patients in the USespecially in the inner cityare still in the 1980s," lead investigator Dr. Joseph J. Pulvirenti told Reuters Health. The study appears in the November issue of AIDS Patient Care.
