Survey: AIDS slashes company profits in South Africa Yahoo! News South Africa's rocketing AIDS rates have slashed profits in at least a third of companies surveyed in the largest such domestic study. "HIV/AIDS is undoubtedly a bottom-line issue for business, as it impacts on production costs and consumer markets," Leighton McDonald, spokesman for the South African Business Coalition on HIV and AIDS (SABCOHA), told reporters Wednesday.
