WHO chief presses rich nations for more AIDS cash Yahoo! News The head of the World Health Organization on Sunday urged rich nations to provide more money to fight AIDS, which is devastating African nations. WHO Director General Jong-Wook Lee called on Britain, Japan and Scandinavian nations in particular to donate more money to the organization's global push against the disease, estimated to be killing 8,000 people a day. "The trend is more money is becoming available, we have to put in more requests and suggestions and pressure to the countries," said Lee, in Brazil for a global health conference.
