Oral sex may transmit HIV BMJ Bews Laboratory studies of mouth tissue suggest that unprotected oral sex does have the potential to transmit HIV. A US research team examined the possibility that normal human oral keratinocytes might be directly infected by HIV or might convey infectious HIV virions to adjacent leucocytes.
